Free ki Advice - Part 2 - Workplace Alignment

Image
👉 Here’s are 9 DON'Ts about workplace — widely understood, but followed by few. ▶️ Don't Gossip. It is like a GPS. It always finds its way back to you with its invisible kick.  ▶️ Don’t forget to Appreciate people - - Appreciation is free and priceless. It takes seconds, but its value lasts far longer. ▶️ Don’t bring EGO into professional decisions. -- What talent builds up, EGO can quietly break down.  ▶️ Don’t play the Blame game. -- It only works in genuine cases. Else of No Use.  ▶️ Don’t resist Feedbacks - Learn to treat Objections and Feedbacks as doors of learning and not attacks.  ▶️ Don't stay Quiet -- Ask questions -- Silence is not strength. It saves you from bigger problems later. ▶️ Don't play Politics - You may win today, but you lose your reputation tomorrow. ▶️ Don't be Negative -- Consistent negativity isn’t honesty — it’s noise. Negativity creates chaos and spoils the mindspace of others.  ▶️ Don't make everything Urgent - - It burns teams, ...

Obstacles scream. Opportunities whisper.

💥 Train your mind to see OPPORTUNITIES instead of OBSTACLES.  1️⃣ Remember learning to ride a bicycle? We kept looking down at the pedals, not at the road ahead. And we fell… again and again — not because we couldn’t ride, but because our focus was in the wrong place. 2️⃣ If I say, “Don’t imagine a lion,” your mind instantly imagines a lion. 3️⃣ If I say, “Don’t hit the trees while running in the jungle,” your mind starts looking for trees, not the path. That’s how the mind works — what we focus on becomes our reality. ▶️ Some people look at an opportunity.  ▶️ O thers look at the same opportunity and instantly see all the roadblocks, risks and “What if things go wrong?” Not because they are negative people… but because the brain is wired to scan for threats first. 👉 But here’s the good news:  Just like we train our muscles, We can train our focus. 🧠 Our Focus is like a torch -- Where we direct this torch, that area will illuminate.  Our lives become easy when we f...

Office Wisdom - How do you deal with Objections

Image
💥 How do you deal with Objections? A few weeks back, during a corporate meeting to pitch my IGNITE Workshop Program, the HR head looked at me and said: ▶️ “We love your program… but our teams are overloaded, we don't have time for this.” A few years ago, I would’ve instantly defended my program, the value it brings, the hours, everything. But now I know this truth: 👉 The moment you start defending, you stop understanding. So instead, I asked: 👉 “I understand your point. Why do think, your team has no time for this?” And suddenly the real reason came out — it wasn’t the time. It was fear. Fear of the Past workshops didn’t deliver measurable results. No follow-up or accountability in the past. Budget Approvals. ▶️ This happens everywhere — even in our relationships. Your partner says: “You don’t give me time.” And what do we do? We start defending: “I’m busy!” “I do so much!” Five minutes later, it becomes an argument… And there goes the weekend. 😔 Because again — we react to th...

Office Wisdom - Leadership Begins When the Door Opens

Image
💥 MY Workplace Story - Leadership Begins When the Door Opens A few years back, in one of my earlier companies, our CEO was a leader, we never met.  We met him through his emails and that too once or twice a year...but never in person. He stayed inside his cabin — blinds down, door closed, always in meetings with the “top few.” And it showed. ▶️The energy on the floor was dull. ▶️People completed tasks but stopped caring. ▶️Ideas dried up. ▶️Morale low. 🔥 One colleague told me, ‘Honestly, most of us are just counting days and waiting for the month end....SALARY " That line stayed with me. Today, I remind every leader I meet to do the following:-  ✅ It’s about proximity. ✅ A ‘Hi.’ ✅ A quick chat. ✅ A hand on the shoulder. ✅ A moment of genuine presence. If a leader stays distant, trust never forms — and without trust, an organisation slowly breaks from the inside. 🔥 Because here’s the truth… --------------------------------------------------- Various studies have shown...

Office Wisdom - No Growth - Don't Worry

Image
💥 When you feel you are not valued in a workplace, it’s not a failure - it’s awareness. It means you’re ready for your next chapter. ✅ In that moment, choose gratitude over complaints, and growth over gossip. ✅ No cafeteria rants. ✅ No negative conversations about how you feel. ✅ Speak honestly about it with your manager. ✅ Not satisfied, no grudges. ✅ Appreciate what the journey taught you — the skills, the lessons, the resilience, the clarity. ✅ Quietly work on finding a better opportunity and move on. ✅ Walk out with grace, dignity, and a strong professional reputation. ----------------------------------------------- A study by Song & Guo (Frontiers in Psychology) finds that negative workplace gossip significantly reduces employees’ organizational self-esteem. ----------------------------------------------- ☘️ Follow Sukhvinder Singh for more insights about Human Connect, Leadership, Self Awareness. Office- Wisdom -- Tough Bosses

Image
💥 My Story - Tough Bosses  I once worked with a boss who micro-managed everything. Every draft, every line, every design, every idea. Review - Feedback - Redo… and Repeat. Our team was frustrated — not because we didn’t want to improve, but because we felt we were never trusted. One day, instead of another formal discussion, I casually invited the boss for lunch. No agenda. No slide deck. Just a simple human conversation. And that’s when we learnt something surprising —the micro-management wasn’t about control…it was about fesr of failure and pressure from above.  Work didn’t magically turn perfect overnight. but the tone changed, the trust improved, We stopped seeing each other as “boss vs team”. It became people trying to do good work together. Sometimes, clarity comes where hierarchy takes a break. 😊 ☘️ My IGNITE Workshop helps teams and individuals to realign with growth and Clarity. 👉 Book 1:1 session for more clarity. https://lnkd.in/gicc4kt7 C...

Office Wisdom - Workplace Alignment

Image
💥 Mastering Workplace Alignment: Align Right and Get Noticed. ❓ I am getting a lot of queries in my workshops about how to align ourselves in the office environment and be more productive and visible. ☘️ Some of the Common Issues we face are:- ❓ Misunderstandings due to unclear expectations or lack of feedback. ❓ How to negotiate with a tough boss? ❓ Should I become a yes person in review meetings? 👉 Here are 10 proven ways to RISE above the noise — and truly SHINE at work. 1️⃣ GOALS - The real mantra is to have a clear understanding of your team's objectives. 2️⃣ COMMUNICATE CLEARLY - If you’re not fully aligned with a plan or its execution approach, share your perspective with your seniors—back it up with relevant data and insights. 3️⃣ TOUGH BOSS - Try and fix up a lunch meeting with your boss. Discuss your point of view in lighter settings like lunch, tea breaks etc. 4️⃣ TAKE OWNERSHIP - Once you understand the objectives and plans, then you must give your 100 percent eff...

Inside the moment, we see the chaos.

Image
☘️ Even the finest painting looks messy up close.  🌞 Same with life. I once saw two people fighting over a small amount of money, shouting, faces tense — to them, it was everything in that moment. But from a distance, it felt so trivial. When we’re inside a moment, we see the chaos. When we step outside it, we see the lesson. ✅ When we see a drone shot over a traffic jam, it’s easy to notice — the chaos is only in that small stretch, and the road ahead is wide open. But for the people stuck inside it, it feels endless and suffocating.  ✅ A heated argument makes more sense after a pause, a tough project feels simpler after a day’s break, even relationships heal when given space.   🌞 Just observe the difference in the following two phrases:- 1. I am Sad.  2. I am feeling Sadness.  In the first one, "I" is attached to the Sadness.  But in the second one, "I" is just feeling sadness. Not attached. So the intensity decreases.  👉 Sometimes, clarity...

Clarity comes from thinking LESS

Image
💥 MY STORY - Clarity doesn’t come from thinking MORE. It comes from thinking LESS. I didn’t learn this in a workshop. Not in a book. Not in meditation class. 😊 I learned this while cleaning my home. I was wiping the fans while listening to a podcast. Nothing extraordinary. Just a regular day. Once I was done, I squeezed the dirty cloth into a transparent bucket. The water turned murky—brownish, dusty, completely unclear. I left it there and went for a short nap. An hour later, I came back to throw the water. What I saw stopped me. The water was clear now. The dirt had gently settled at the bottom. No one touched it. No one stirred it. No effort. No force. Just stillness. Sometimes your mind does crazy flips. And in that simple moment, something inside me connected. 🔥 This is exactly how our mind works. When we are overwhelmed… When thoughts are swirling… When emotions feel loud… We have a muddy mind. It isn’t that we don’t have clarity. 🔥 Our Mind - It’s t...

I'm scared of Not being Enough.

Image
💥 Fear Is Not Loud. It’s Silent — And It Controls Our Lives. Some say FEAR is good, it keeps us on our toes. Not all fear screams. Some whisper and limit our choices. We don’t even notice. Due to our hidden fears, we lose many opportunities. A young professional met me after the my workshop. He looked confident, sounded sharp — the kind of guy you'd assume has it all figured out. But when we spoke privately, he said something that hit me hard: 🔥“Sir, I have a constant feeling of someone who doesn’t know enough.” I am Not scared of the work, but I'm scared of Not being “enough.” 🗣️He shared how:  He overworks — fear of falling behind. He avoids asking questions in meetings — fear of not asking the best question. He hesitates in job interviews — fear of not matching the expectations. He said, “I keep trying harder… but the fear never leaves. It quietly hides behind my effort.” And I told him something very simple — not motivational, just real: ☘️ Fear doesn’t go aw...

Office Wisdom - Leave your EGO outside the office gate.

Image
💥 MY STORY - 3 "Leave your EGO outside the office gate.” I say this often in my workshops — but one incident made it hit me even harder. A few years ago, I had a young game programmer in my team — brilliant mind, sharp communicator, high potential. But every time I gave feedback, I could see his body stiffen. He would argue and go silent in the next meeting. He was not able to resolve the bugs reported by the team.  His performance dipped.  One day, after yet another review meeting that didn’t go well, I simply asked him — 👉 “You are brilliant but your EGO is louder than your brilliance". Weeks later, I saw a different person — open, collaborative.  He told me quietly, “That day, I left my ego at the office gate.” Since then, I’ve realized — 🔥 Ego doesn’t announce itself. It hides behind confidence, titles, and experience. 🔥 EGO, silently kills learning, teamwork, and trust. So before you step in tomorrow, maybe just pause for a second and remind yo...
