Why do we hold ourselves back

As a result, most of us navigate:-
Stress, Emotions Decisions, and Relationships through trial and error— leading to burnout, conflicts, poor choices, and repeated life patterns.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐛-𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧, 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬, 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.
For example, if you hold a limiting belief like :-

❌ Feeling jitters before an Interview or a presentation.
Your subconscious brain will reinforce that narrative. It will discourage your efforts towards preparing, and continually amplify fears about the exam’s difficulty, keeping you stuck in that limiting pattern.
✅ 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 - 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 ... 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐥𝐲.
▶️ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬. The sub-conscious mind works in Imagery, Sensation and Metaphor. It understands Audio and Visual Cues.
So, talk to the Sub-conscious mind in its own language. Communicate consciously-formed goals to the sub-conscious mind in the form of Audio and Visual Cues.

✅ For example, practice daily positive audio affirmations: “I can crack the IIT exam,” or “I’m preparing well and improving every day.”
✅ Alongside this, visualise positive outcomes: imagine seeing your name on the results board, picture yourself as a civil servant OR on stage giving presentation, and feel the applause of people celebrating your success.
✅ ACTION - Over time, this reduces the subconscious resistance and creates a stronger internal push toward taking action.
These steps may seem simple or even cliché, but they carry immense power to rewire your emotional brain.
Through consistent repetition, you begin to override old limiting patterns - those that create self-doubt or block sustained effort. You’re essentially reprogramming your Sub-Conscious mind to support, rather than resisting your goals.
