Our Monkey Brain - a Restless entity

The term "monkey brain" comes from ancient wisdom traditions and refers to our constantly active, restless mind. Just like a monkey, who is always moving and jumping from one branch to another. We have roughly 60,000 thoughts in a day.

This mental chatter can leave us feeling drained, distracted, and disconnected from the present moment. But the good news? Like a playful monkey, the mind can be trained—with awareness, mindfulness, and gentle discipline.

📢 SOLUTION -   The journey starts with recognising this inner chatter – by OBSERVER TECHNIQUE. Practising Mindfulness – Being aware of your thoughts.

Start observing your thoughts. 10 mins of sitting in a quiet and relaxed environment. Recognise your thoughts as Negative or Positive.
When you can recognise your thoughts, then you can easily maintain distance from them.

🧠 BRAIN IS A MUSCLE – By recognising one Negative thought and choosing to ignore it, you can throw it out of your system easily. That’s equal to doing one push-up of your brain — a small act that builds mental strength. The more you do, the stronger your mind gets! 💪🧠

The more aware we become, the more we can guide our thoughts—rather than be ruled by them.

  1. Yes conscious effort is required to 1) lable a thought as negative/ positive and 2) make a concerted effort to throw it out. Not easy though practice can help reduce the monkey tricks. Well explained. God bless you.
